This city of approximately 10,000 residents is located in northeastern North Carolina on the beautiful Pamlico River. They are proud to have been the first city in America to be named for General George Washington, the future first president of the United States.

The Annual Summer Festival was the weekend in July I was there. It brought in about 50,000 more people from the surrounding counties. This band was a blue grass gospel band called the Parsons. |
