Greek FrappéPreparation Time: 2 minutes
Ancient Greek Chicken Recipe given to my by Dimitri, owner of Mouragio, in Antiparos, Greece. The story that came with the food is that the ancient Greeks cooked this over fire and the ingredients were indigenous to the island. They used what they had. This is a recipe that has stood the test of time. Ingredients: Large casserole dish Chicken without the skin (I use a whole chicken cut up) Figs (I’ve used fresh or dried – about 15 of them) Two garlic cloves One onion Port wine Honey Directions: Put the chicken, figs, garlic (peeled and chunked up), onion (slices or small pieces, you choose) into the casserole dish Salt and pepper to taste Cover mixture with port wine Cook for about 50 minutes Take out of oven and cover whole mix with honey bake ten more minutes Unbelievably good!
This is Leonidas and Cruzanne (my sister). Leo's Special Greek Coffee Leo is a young Greek man that was our waiter for the week we spent on the island of Antiparos, Greece. He taught us some Greek and Italian, regaled us with youthful stories, danced Greek dances and sent us home with his special coffee recipe. Directions: Mix two small spoonfuls of water with two spoonfuls of Nescafe and two spoonfuls of sugar (if you like it sweet add sugar, if you don’t leave sugar out) Mix until it is the consistency of pudding Add boiling water Stir Enjoy your modified Greek Coffee!!
