OLD KONA AIRPORT STATE RECREATION AREA: This 120 acre park on Kailua Bay has a white-sand beach with calm water great for swimming and snorkeling, or getting that perfect tan. Many tidal pools, shore diving, and good facilities.There is also a picnic area and a playing field. A great local favorite. I did my tai chi here every morning and tried to catch the sunset after work. |

| I stayed at a hostel in Kona. It was actually a 2
bedroom apartment and I had one of the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. We
had a large lanai and these shots were taken of the moon setting early in
the a.m.
